So some states, like NY where I live, do not allow folding or collapsible stocks. Actually it is a matter of how many illegal Assualt Weapon features the gun has. The Vector has pistol grip (and while I would disagree it can be seen as one) and it takes a detachable magazine. I can only have two features on the list. Folding stock has to go.

So pop the roll pin in the stock.
Remove the stock latch and spring.
Stack 5 pennies in the space in the side of the stock.
Keep the spring out and put the latch back in.
Pop the roll pin back in.

Now the stock cannot be unlatched. You have to pop the pin to remove or "fold" the stock.

I helped a friend pin a stock and make a kydex grip wedge (blocker = not a pistol grip in CA).

I used several automotive washers that work perfectly, and I left the spring in place. You cannot push the button, but the spring is retained internally (I know he will lose it if I take it out).

The kydex wedge wraps around the grip and around the stock- by itself it is not strong enough to keep the stock from folding. I used six rivets to secure the wedge to itself- better safe than sorry, and he can legaly use old hi caps as long as he doesn't stick anything on the front rails like a vertical grip.

I have heard of people using the "wedge" for AKs.

This one was one- off. I made the wedge myself using a heat gun and a kydex sheet. Took the better part of a day!

That's the one I did Very Happy

Kydex is pretty easy to work with. What I do is cut a paper template (make it fit how you want), then cut it out of kydex using a jigsaw.

When I form the kydex, I use a hi-temp heat gun, and heat each angle I want to bend, in a couple seconds it becomes soft enough to fold. You will have to wear leather gloves of some sort as the material gets HOT.

I left a few flaps which I could then rivet together, securing it well. I always make sure an overzealous cop can't 'accidentally' knock off the legalizing piece. Just being paranoid, but you get that way dealing with CA law..

I've actually shot that Kriss- it handles quite well, yoru thumb ends up about where the safety switch is- there was sort of a place to put it.

You have a few options.

1. Buy a Magpul RSA.

2. Use a Dremel or file and cut a slot across to top of your hing pin. Heat up the hinge pin screw with a solder iron to heat up the Loctite you might need to slot top and bottom screws. Unscrew the screw. Pop pin out and replace with factory sling pin. Use Loctite to lock the new hinge pin screw.

Here are some sling point options.

Hey guys, sorry to dig this old thread up, but does anyone know how to remove the stock latch release and spring from the Kriss Vector stock?

I need to make my Vector CA compliant, but cant figure out how to remove the latch release and spring in order to put the block in.

Thanks.

Remove the stock from the gun.

Look down ontop of the stock. Near the hinge side, you will see a small hole. Get a punch the same diammeter. Inside the hole is a roll pin. Punch it out. Then the latch/button will be able to come out. Take out the spring. and replace with pennies.
