Problem with aftermarket 27 round mags Empty Problem with aftermarket 27 round mags

Post by timebandit Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:41 pm

I just got my Kriss CRB a few days ago and the gun itself has been great. No problems at all when using my 13 round G21 mags. However, when I use the aftermarket 27 round mags, I fire the first shot and the mag drops out of the gun. This happens with both of them. Has anybody had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

Interesting. My vector only had this issue with Gen4 mags. I suspect it has something to do with the mag catch.

Looking at picture # 3, bottom, if you look at the factory Gen 4 Glock mags, and look at the picture, the picture does not have another indent or cut out on both sides of the mag at where the latch engages to the mag. It's possible the latch is being held partially open when the mags are inserted and it is not locking up on both sides, when using the aftermarket mag. Also it may not be going all the way in and is just jamming in the mag slot because the latch is not able to make it's full side to side travel when mag is inserted. Another thought, if the cut out on the mag is not at the proper distance from the top of mag to the top of the cut out for latch, it may not be engaging at all and could cause it to fall free. Just some things to look at, hope this helps. There are some other issues for the latching mech, but look's like it is just a mag issue for yours. IMO

Thanks AZ200. I think I'm going to use a file and some oil and try to cut the indention on the right side of the magazine a bit deeper. My Glock mags all have a deeper cut there, and they work fine.

Your welcome, hope it works out for you. Let me know, that way if the other guy's are having a similar problem it may help them. I look at it this way, everyone has an AR in one form or another, but there are not alot of KRISS owners, so everything we can share may lead up to an answer that will help the other owners. Also if CatMostFeared or Solscud007 want to put up a sticky it could help out. wtf

I am also having this same problem. I purchased a KRISS extended magazine. Drops after the first shot and also is able to be pulled out by hand after you put the magazine into the gun. I contacted KRISS about this problem, just waiting for a reply.

Please report back on what you hear from Kriss. I didn't bother contacting them about my magazines since they are knock-offs, but your official Kriss extended magazines should certainly work.

kci mag correct? I have the same. other problems with it. Theres another user on here who has one with other problems. Nothing works as well as the genuine glock. Hope you get it working bro.
I had to do some filing on mine too. The rounds were getting jammed inside the mag.

Is there anywhere I could purchase just 1 more mag? I only have one and want to make sure I have a back up. I know they are like gold right now.

I just ordered two more Kriss extension kits from Black Label Tactical last week and they arrived today, but they are now out of stock. I have been scouring the web for more, but they are definitely scarce. Good luck to you, sorry I can't help.
