5 shots....

Excellent group. However, I would like to see THAT shooter shoot THAT carbine at 50 yards and beyond. That is where the problem seems to be. If that group expands to only 2-3" at 50 yards, there would be nothing wrong with the KRISS platform in the accuracy department.

I send my friend a message. Hopefully he will shoot a 50 yd group.

This is what he told me:

The good folks at Kriss recommend Speer Lawman 230 FMJ. However, since dumping my Eotech, I have had good groups with all my junk .45.

this thread is somewhat disheartening for a soon to be kriss owner.

im wondering how the problem weapons perform indoors, im not a ballistics expert but the larger and slower the bullet the more the wind will effect it. The smaller and faster the less and of course distance to target.

Just wondering if you eliminated wind factor if the groups would tighten up.

I shot mine outside at 100 yards, about a 8" group with 7 shots, only 4x magnification and cheap ammo.

Accuracy Issues - Page 3 Empty Re: Accuracy Issues

Ok so I shot MY SBR KRISS today trying to sit in my eotech and I love my eotech.
Not much luck @50yds seems to move around way to much, my upper and lower has alot of play in it and then a rain storm hit so I'll try it again another day. I'll try it again @35 yards.I'm going to try something like this but I have 2 other ideas also.

this is from http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=554040
CRTGuns

Made the shims. Just some fancy washers that fill the gap between the outside domension of the lower bosses and the inside dimension of the upper. They also keep the takedown pins tight, as they generally slide in and out around 1/8 inch.

Did it help, in terms of accuracy, yes... in a big way.

If you;ve messed with this gun first thing youll notice is that it has a wobble like you would not beleive. The upper and lower (fore and aft maybe???) receievrs do not fit. There is almost 1/16" lateral (side to side) movement. On targets, if you use any muscle with your front had, you'll push or pull the rounds way off target. The barrel is attached to the lower, and the sights to the upper.... not the best idea, even if they did fit very well. At 25 yards I was able (intentionally demonstrating) to make a group shift left and rightalmost 10 inches by pushing or pulling the foregrip.

The shim kit makes the top-to-bottom fit a "press fit" solving this issue.

Hey CatMostFeared,

I did get my carbine back from Kriss. They replaced my whole lower, I had a cracked receiver plate. ( New Serial # )

I took it to the range and shot at 50 yds. I used an Aimpoint for the optic and used a grip pod . I used WWB 230 gr fmj and got 5" groups. The best group I got was with Federal HI-SHOCK 230gr jhp. 2.5". I did notice that I did have less movement between the upper and lower. Kriss customer service was very good throughout the whole process. I will be doing more testing with a 4x scope I will let you know how that works out.

First of all, thanks mambro for your help, it is appreciated.
Went out yesterday to try some quick accuracy test with my CRB. It is set up with a Bushnell TR-25 micro red dot and did some 25, 50 and 100yd tests. I did not shoot alot of rounds because it was 100 degrees and about 70% humidity, so wanted to get done and back in somewhere cool. The 3 shot group is @ 100yds, (fired 5 rounds, no clue what happened to the other two?) I did have to aim approx. 14" above center of target to come into center of horizontal. Rolling Eyes The shot group with 7 shots was @ 50 yds and at a medium rapid fire mode, (getting hotter, gotta go). The last group was slow and easy at 25 yds, 10 rounds. I was using factory loaded BVAC 230 grain rnd nose. Even though all five @ 100yds did not hit inside the 12" target circle, part of that was me and the ammo with trigger jerk, I am very happy with the accuracy of the Kriss at that distance. I shoot with friends that have other type carbines and their method is spray and pray. Pics were taken with my cell phone, next time I will take my camera. Not sure if the pics are posting but will give it a shot. No pun intended.
