Hello, from NC

Post by iamnotShawn on Sat Dec 15, 2012 8:02 pm

Hey everyone, New to the forum and I typically do not post on any forums, but I could use some help from like minded individuals. Originally I'm from Iowa, but I'm stationed at good ol' Camp Lejeune in NC. I haven't had the ability to get into my own repairs/modifications but I have a great interest in the experience and knowledge.
Problem at hand, the buffer pad or carrier group pad is deteriorated and I've received the replacement via mail from Kriss however I'm not sure if it's a "just dig out the old one" thing or if there's a process I should take. When installing the replacement should use some sort of adhesive? I've got pictures if anyone needs a visual. Thanks for reading!

Also, apologies to any forum etiquette I might have fudged. I tried searching but I didn't know what to call this pad.

*edit, I'm a little slow I suppose, I just pulled it with a dental pick and crammed the other in there.

No problem. I had to replace my "buffer" as well. I think KRISS USA calls it a buffer. Just dig it out with needle nose pliers.

Here is a picture of what it looks like once removed.

Then just pop the new one in.

Welcome man!

I'm in J'ville as well! Maybe see you at the range some time (usually go to Flatwoods Outfitters).

thanks brother, i like to use flatwoods for zeroing KD, but i typically tromp around the croatan national forest in the maysville area. If you have any interest, i'd be more than happy to share what i know with you. i would point out now, during hunting season, i only target shoot out there on sundays for safety and consideration.

Solscud, I received a very swift pm from a member than showed me your repair post. i appreciate the amount of information you put out, in this case it definitely gave me confidence knowing this wasn't an isolated/unique case.

Currently overseas, but will back in the 'ville January 4th-13th. Got a new, unfired CRB awaiting to get 1k rounds put through it and broken in!

Might have to link-up and do some shooting and share some stories.
