I felt the same way...don't bother whatsoever with the charging handle. I don't intend to put anything on that rail other than the rail cover I have on it now though.

I beg to differ...have you seen my cut? Best one so far IMO, just need a lot of Dremel practice! Haha

Surefire E1B alternative
I found a cheaper alternative to installing a light in the Vector. If you want the exact same fitment as the original light package, get the PowerTac Cadet flashlight. PowerTac has a promo right now and includes the pressure switch and a weapon mount (which you don't need). It's comes with the CREE XPG R5 Led head rated at 300 lumens. The Cadet flash light is exactly the same dimensions as the Surefire E1B. I just installed this Cadet light last night with the Kriss light mount and one rail. It assembles exactly the same as the Surefire light. If I get a chance, I'll post some pics. The Cadet has 4 light settings and strobe, all activated or changed by rotating the bezel. Only thing else needed is some Velcro to mount the switch. I actually got some of the Streamlight pressure switch rubber mounts for the rail to mount the switch to.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Here are some pics of the PowerTac installed just like the Surefire E1B. It installs exactly like the Kriss instructions state for the Surefire light. I'm in the process of adding industrial Velcro to mount the pressure switch to the rail now.

Here's the pressure switch mounting I did just now. I decided to have have two options for mounting the switch.

Nice.
For ~$80 plus the cost of the adapter from Kriss, that PowerTac light seems like a good deal.
How does the quality of the flashlight seem?

The light's build quality seems perfectly fine. It is made in China of course, but its designed in the US out of North Carolina. The pressure switch is not like a Surefire or Streamlight pressure switch, but it is made very well and works. It has three pressure tabs in it your can feel. Also, I've seen the local distributor selling their entire line up of lights at every local gun show I've been to, so it seems they are really pushing and supporting this brand. They do show some torture tests on the web site, but that is always subjective. For the price and light emitting power, I had to give it a try.

ordered tonight, id say quality is worse than surefire but you can buy 2 replacements of these before you get to price of surefire, couldnt find a better deal than link posted that came with remote switch. looks nice, doesn't stick out as far as surefire.
like seeing the magpul rail covers sized, i have the XTM handstop here, still no kriss to put it on.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Same here. Where can the XTM handstop be found?
As for the Cadet light, it's still working after blowing about 80 rounds tonight at the range. Very little, if any residue, on the bezel. I wipe it right off when cleaning the Kriss tonight.

if you coat the flashlight lense w/ oil its easier to clean later.

The pressure switch looks like it's too fat, but it compresses and slides right through the slot opening in the frame. Just follow the Kriss instructions for a Surefire install, because its exactly the same with the Cadet.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
got the light today..pressure switch and mount not in box.
light quality isnt to shabby, real test is if its durable then id say its def a cheaper alternative to surefire.

The Cadet has 4 light settings and strobe
remote switch came yesterday, i can turn the bezel and it goes from momentary on (hold it) to strobe, does yours have a click on, leave on type setting? im only seeing two on mine, solid or stobe. all 3 pressure buttons on remote switch seems to do the same thing, that how yours is?
also what adhesive did you use for velco? just the sticky back that comes with it or something else that won't damage kriss?

The pressure switch is a momentary only switch, it won't keep the light on constant. Even with the Surefire, it would be the same thing unless you used the SR05 switch, which you would have to cut your frame to allow the cable end to fit through. As for Velcro, I got some from Home Depot. Make sure it's industrial strength version. It's about $2.50 or so for the small package of Velcro. Just clean the area where it's mounted and the switch properly an allow it to set for 24 hours for full adhesion.
As for the light settings, you have strobe and light on, but you can change the amount of lighting by holding the switch on and quickly rotating the head to the right and then back. It should have 4 settings of light brightness. Take the light and rotate the head back and forth whiles its on and you'll see the light change from really dim to super bright with every rotation of head back and forth. I leave mine at the second highest setting. Wherever you last leave the light brightness at is where it will stay at unless you change it.
