Broken Mag?
Just picked up my Vector CBR yesterday. Didn't know it but this is a Michigan pistol. I have to make a trip to the Sheriff tomorrow to drop off the permit. Got it home to find no case candy - no cleaning kit, no custom tool kit. This Vector came fresh in the box, so I don't think the dealer ransacked it.
Cool gun, although for $1799 I'm just a little disappointed in the case. My Springfield XDS came in a sturdier box with two mags, OWB holster, magazine holster and back straps for only $609. But I get it, my most of my ARs came with one magazine and a cardboard box. At least I got a "hard" case.
Now I promise, I read the manual (no kidding, I did read it and I think the pics are too small.) If I didn't read it I probably wouldn't know I was missing gear.
First day out on the range today. Had some problems zeroing, in spite of the fact that the manual said they zero it at the factory. Good sight alignment/picture, stable position (table top with grip pod.) Point if impact, point of aim, yadda yadda. Good windage but elevation was 4ft low. Another shooter experienced same impact, 4ft low. Tried offhand, 4ft low. 50yds....25yds....7yds, still wicked low. Adjusted front sight once, twice, three times. No improvement. Tried to compensate by moving sight to no avail. So Kentucky windage it is, I've got to get this thing humming.
So I'm firing compatible ammunition and about 20-30 rounds in I get light primer strike. No bang. Clear the weapon, check function, reload and get a few more rounds off then click, no bang. I inspect the magazine and it looks like the top left side had been sheared off. Bolt looks ok and I don't see anything wrong in the chamber-although I'm not completely familiar with the design.
Look its not a $10k Barrett, but $1799 for a blue collar guy like me is a lot of scratch. I was so psyched to pick it up and now I'm a little disheartened. I haven't given up yet though.
I've contacted customer service (I know they're closed until tomorrow) and hope they'll respond in a timely manner.
Has anyone else had these problems?

Re: Broken Mag?
I discovered my SDP was apparently bore-sighted using the POST on top of the rear sight, with the post on the front sight. ;)
Out of 100 rounds I had no malfunctions, but I am using the "30" round mags I got from Kriss. Mine was a CA model with a completely unusable magazine. Also disappointing for an expensive gun!

For those of you with the California no round mags you can make them completely usable in five minutes with a pocket knife, punch, hammer and pliers. I have done it and my CA no round mag now works like a charm.

Re: Broken Mag?
Two telephone calls recieved com Kriss today.
It appears as though they sent a few of these weapons out with an AR front sight post, which is longer than a Kriss front sight post.
Case candy no longer ships with the Vector. My manual is outdated, so it is incorrect. I shouldn't have gotten a cleaning kit or tools.
The gunsmith believes that the spring on the hammer is bad, which is causing the light primer strike.
My Vector will be shipped back as soon as they email me a RMA.
So far their comm is great. Lets see how long to repair.

Re: Broken Mag?
I did the same thing with my 10 rounder but bought another mag. follower instead. Do you have any pics of the front sight?

Re: Broken Mag?
No pics of the front sight, but I believe that you couldn't tell one from the other unless you measured the front sight post. The post is too long. According to Kriss, Diamondhead shipped the wrong sights and QC didn't catch it until several weapons left manufacturing. Kind of poopoos the notion that they're bore sighting every weapon prior to each weapon leaving the plant.

Re: Broken Mag?
Even if they installed the wrong front sight, they probably bore sighted it. Their process of bore sighting just gets you on paper. They do not take the time to dial it in to MOA. They put a small laser in the chamber, project the beam onto a target at what distance, we do not know, look through the sights and if they are off they give the sights some turns. They check it again and if the sights line up with the dot at all they are finished with that weapon. The other thing about someone else bore sighting "your" weapon is his eyesight. His sight is not the same as yours, is he left or right handed, does he like an absolute POA/POI or a 6:00 hold at that distance.
Look at their bore sighting as just getting you on paper so you will have an easier time sighting your Kriss for yourself.
