new kris crb member in ct...

Post by chunglee99 on Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:04 am

hi gang,

i saw this gun after i ordered an hk usc to ump conversion. the ump will arrive on friday
but when i saw this at the store it was love at first sight. knew nothing about the gun but
was in the market for a 45 carbine and the storm cx4 didn't do it for me and ordered a ump and
then i saw the kriss.

i spent two nights learning about the kriss and went back and bought the rifle with extended mags.

shot it and loved it.

will be doing some comparisons with the ump when it arrives.

i will sbr the kriss at my leisure once i figure out if a trust route is better. i have
other sbr's as individuals but looking into the trust route.

will have tons of questions going forward.

just saying hi and hope to be a contributing member of this community.

cheers,

chung lee

Hey Chung. Welcome. If you dont mind me asking whereabouts in CT are you? I live in Rockland County and work near White Plains, NY which is very near the CT border. If you are nearby we should meet up. I have never met a fellow KRISS owner before and I would love to try the UMP against my KRISS.

PM me your details.

Nick

when i was setting up my ump transfer, my ffl had the carbine and sbr in stock.
i got home and starting googling like mad and spent two days 6 inches from my computer screen.

after i read everything i could i looked up kriss forum and this site came up.

i read every thread!

i returned to my ffl and purchased the carbine. i was waffling back and forth between
the sbr and carbine but i knew i couldn't wait. it was like crack. besides
if i din't like it then it's easier to sell as a carbine and if i did like it then i can
send for my stamp at leisure.

Smile

cheers

he had the sbr not the pistol. i think assault pistols have to under
50 oz in ct to be legal.

i didn't want to wait and i'm deciding on setting up a trust.

that wait would kill me. i went to the range again today to test out some more magazines
and i walked out with a new glock 21 sf to go with the kriss.

i have decided to forgo some luxuries like heat and bread for the next couple of months to
afford this buying binge.

Welcome CL

Speaking of a SBR'd Kriss, How hard is it to get the barrel out of the carbine?

thanks for the welcome. i don't know what the carbine to sbr process is. in my state we are not allowed
to have threaded barrels so i might just have my barrel chopped instead of swapped. i haven't looked into
it yet until i decide the rifle is a keeper. so far it's a keeper even though the action and handling is still
a little awkward.

i'm 90% sure i would send it to kriss to do the conversion but i don't know what their process is.
