I went and bought another mag, this time though for the modification.... Instead of twisting up the very last segment I bent down the entire last segment. We (Kevin), both found that after bending up the last segment it caused the follower to be crooked on top of spring or unable to snap back on to spring. By bending the entire segment down, it keeps more pressure on rear of mag to keep bullets straight during its trip up the feed ramp, and it enables the follower to still clip onto the spring securely. Will test this weekend hopefully

violent Was able to run through 8 mags and no jams, seems bending the front of the spring down, enables more pressure on rear of follower, and still allows follower to be clipped onto spring.  This is similar to the post above referring to a modification posted by JR Carbines.  However if you do it as suggested by JR the follower no longer sits squarely on spring, causes other problems. Bending the front of the last segment down seems to fix the jamming problem !!!!!!!!

Looking at it again...... Rather than bending the springs, just turn the spring around, this will put more pressure on back and less on front of follower, same result, less messing around.   I'm gonna try this on another mag...........

Should be thanks to kevinagar for posting the memo from JR carbines, without that id still be complaining and whining..... lol.
I tried  to upload a picture of the spring in its modified state, can't upload pics on here.   All I can say is that after 2 visits to range and approx 15 mags later I have had no issues with jamming or fail to feed on the kriss.  Some have suggested that the mags work in their glocks fine so why not the kriss?.  Others have said there is an issue with the kriss, I don't know, I'm not a gunsmith.  Perhaps there is an issue with the feed ramp, to steep maybe?, maybe glock changed the mags ?  Maybe the magazine is too far away from feed ramp?  I DONT KNOW.  I can see that leaving the mag spring in its original factory state allows the bullet to stand vertical when the bolt pushes it out of the mag, a steep feed ramp allows the bullet to go vertical before it enters the chamber. Modifying the spring puts more pressure on the bullet , particularly the rear of cartridge, keeping it horizontal longer, allowing it to enter the chamber successfully. I don't have the extended mags, I'm in canada, all I have is the 10 rounders.   (unless someone wants to send me a "real mag").  Hahahahaha

That's great news aragorn1... and thanks for the shout-out! I still havent made it out to the range yet with the vector but it is nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. FYI... I did one other mod to the spring and follower... I siliconed the top of the spring into the follower cutout and slid the spring all the way back in the underneath of the follower cutout, as the spring can move slightly forward in it. That way the pressure is all the way at the back of the follower. I went to the gun shop in London, Ontario on Saturday and told the owner about the 2nd from last bullet issue and low and behold he had just receiver the JRCarbine sheet from a supplier. I told him that it still needs mods to work but it is a start. I also checked out a few knock-off Glock mags and they too have the same issues and one of the other issues I now see is that the retainers are loose fitting in the mag as they are slightly too short form end to end, leaving a small gap, and that makes it easy for the retainer and bullet to pivot nose up with a forward pressure spring contact. Thanks for doing ALL the leg work.... real teamwork aragorn1!!!

Yes, they are are awesome! That's also where I got my Kriss Vector.
I just picked up a crate of 5.56 ammo for my Benelli MR1 there too on Saturday... good prices.
Scott also has American Eagle 45 ACP ammo there since I asked him for some awhile back....
Cheers.

Another day at the range, 3 modified mags, no FTF. I hope the modifications work for the rest of you as well as they did for me. Happy Camper !

New member here from Indiana.  I just picked up my Kriss on Friday, and have not had a chance to shoot it.  On the magazine spring mod, is it easy to turn the spring 180 degrees to prevent jamming in the last two or three rounds, or are most of you bending the top of the spring, as suggested in this thread?  Has Kriss acknowledged the fix as helping?  It would be nice to get a magazine off the shelf that has corrected the issue, instead of modifying existing mags, because I would like to pick up a few more mags, and I hate to test theories on things I might break!

I would start using your Kriss without messing with the mags, perhaps Kriss has made modifications.... ?. If you do have problems, and don't wish to return the gun to the dealer, I found the following to fix my problems. Rather than bending the last SEGMENT up, as in the photo attached to the link from JR Carbines, i bent the last SECTION down so last section of mag is completely horizontal. Bending the last segment up makes it impossible for the follower to snap on properly. Bending last SECTION down and ending up with a horizontal surface allows the follower to snap on, removes pressure from forward part of the follower and allows follower to slide freely. Since doing this I have had no issues with my Kriss. Have fired several hundred rounds with no jams. Good luck !

This spring has not let me down, magazine completely empties all the time, I turned spring around , flattened the last segment and reinstalled the follower.

So I did it your way with no failures. The one from Jr carbine was better but had FTF from time to time. I'll modify the other mag and go back and test again. But thanks for the pics it makes it a lot easier to modify the mag. Cheers!

Glad to hear ! With the FTF issue cleared up this my favorite gun to shoot , only disapointing aspect of this has been kriss's handling of it. They've not responded AT ALL on any forum, email or otherwise concerning this issue. It will certainly weigh upon my decision to purchase another Kriss or Sphinx firearm. Learned my lesson, no impulse buying, thorough investigation first. Glad to hear this worked out for you and others hopefully. Shoot safe shoot often.

I love the way the gun feels. Addictive, every mag goes by makes me want to shoot another.

Kriss seriously has to step up their game. Its a pretty easy problem to retify yet they take customers guns and change out all parts, returning them and still have issues.

I believe it is a problem with the mags, since kriss doesn't make the mags I think they are mum on the issue. However since Kriss relies on the glock mags for the operation of their gun I think they should have secured mags that were not "troublesome" and replaced the ones for the people that we're having problems. The problem is exacerbated in Canada because the importer, North Sylva, doesn't respond to anyone, for any reason, on any media or email ever. They import , ship to the dealer, and wash their hands. Definitely could use some competition in Canada. Love shooting my Kriss also, but its the one and only.

Ran 250 rounds between the 2 mags and zero fails. Mag dumps and slow paced shooting. Runs like a champ.
Aragorn Thx for the hard work and testing. Even my bolt lock back issue is solved.

I wonder if the modified mags for the Vector will still work for the G21 pistol?

They still work in a G21. I have 2 x10 a 13 and 2x 30 rda that all work in both the Kris's and Glock.
