Update Fixed... Got Got My Kriss Folding Stock Will Not Lock

Hi Guys

I just got my Kriss today and when I opened the El Cheapo case the folding stock
was not attached to the rifle. So I attached it by removing the pin from the rifle
and mating the stock, put the pin back in and folded the stock. When I went to
unfold the stock the latch would not lock, if I pull the pin out the latch locks and
was able to put pin back in. And everything on the check list was checked off
but someone did not check to see if the stock locked.

After messing around with folder if I either use a little force when unfolding or
easy with a little clockwise twist of the stock the button pops out and locks.

I love the looks of this rifle awesome to say the least.

My new carbine has the same problem, I can twist the stock to get the button to pop out. BUT i dont think that is a proper fix. It will lock the stock, but I dont want to have to do it every time I open and close the stock.

Any suggestions?

Im confused. Is the button seizing in the recess of the stock and not moving in and out freely?

Correct. When you close the stock there is something not allowing the button to push out fully locking the stock in place.

When I twist the stock up, the button locks.

Also, should the new ones have a cleaning kit and a set of tools?

My SDP did not come with kit or tools either...

(Not that I don't have enough of those already anyway...)

I would check the button/latch. Make sure it is not binding on the stock itself.

If it moves freely, then the problem is the upper receiver. You may need to shave some material and make the hole wider or taller.

I removed a little off the bottom of the latch itself. It works better now. I just hate the idea of having to take sandpaper to a brand new gun.

Since I learned the benefits of modding my cars, I've been more willing to modify just about anything! I did the conversion on a brand-new Saiga-12 shotgun, and like it much better now.

I had the same problem today when I picked mine up. Got the stock to lock in first before I slid the pin in. Also mine had no tool or cleaning kit..

New member. Just bought my kriss vector carbine on april 20. I am having the same problem as above. When I fold the stock to the side it is fine, but when I try to extend it open it will not lock open. The catch is unable to catch the the inside of the upper and the button stays depressed. Is it better to mod it my self or contact Kriss? I am nervous about attempting any modification on a new rifle. Has anyone contacted Kriss about this problem. I love the gun, but am disappointed that it is not functioning properly. Any help would be appreciated. Photos and instructions of successfull mods would also be helpful. Thanks again.

When you wiggle the stock, will the button pop out and lock the stock? I took a file (for a flat surface) and some fine sand paper and took a little at a time off the bottom of the latch itself. I went slowly, and it works now.
