Thread Size on 6.5" SDP Barrel???

Post by MadDogDan on Sat Mar 30, 2013 10:32 pm

I just purchased an SDP with 6.5" threaded barrel off Gun Broker. I do not have it yet but want to get what I need to run my AAC TiRant Suppressor on it. The current piston in my TiRant is American thread (for my FNP45 Tactical) and I know the Kriss barrel is M16x1 threads but what I don't know is, are they right or left hand threads. AAC makes both M16x1R and M16x1L pistons. Just need to know which one I should order. Of course as soon as I have this little puppy in my hands I am going to send in my Form1 to SBR it. I have been telling myself I don't need any more NFA items (already have SBR's, SBS's, Suppressors, and one 40mm DD) but no collection would be complete without a 45ACP SBR to go along with my suppressed side arms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, will order the piston now from AAC. I already have a Surefire E1 series light with a Cree5 bezel that puts out 200 lumens that I usually have one me 24/7. I am going to sacrifice it to my Kriss (just ordered the adapter). I will just have to carry my larger G2 with Cree bezel that puts out 600 lumens.

^ I'm considering this flash hider too... can't say I've seen much flash to hide yet, but I've only used one brand of ammo in it so far...

Flash hiders like the Smith Vortex and the HK one you posted do an excellent job. I may pick one up for those time I do not shoot my Kriss suppressed.

For not much more than the cost of a new piston you can rethread your barrel to .578 like your fnp is. I have a tirant and an fnp also. That's what I did. I've got a thread on the conversion round here somewhere.....
