Shooting report Empty Shooting report

Post by Big Mac Sun Feb 17, 2013 11:34 am

I put 100 rounds down range yesterday with my CRB which now makes 250 rounds lifetime . I've only had 1 failure, an ftl which was my fault as I did not have the magazine seated all the way. So I'm calling 100% flawless performance thus far which is awesome. Looks like I got a good one. beers cheers violent

Glad to hear you had a good range day. I took mine out for the 1st time yesterday, 150 rounds without a failure. The only issue I had was with the EOTech EXPS2, I had to adjust it all the way up to to get it on target. Anyone else have this kind of issue?

Yep! Same with my xps2. Took a shocking amount of adjustment to zero!

Xps2 sit extremely high. When I put one on mine, I only got a lower 1/3 cowitness. How far did you zero?

25 yds?

I have the EXPS and it is even higher, too high. Its height is 10.04 MM higher

BROWNELLS/EOTECH CQB T-DOT HOLOGRAPHIC SIGHT
The bottom of the T-Dot’s circle is left open, with a “T” indicating a precise aiming reference zeroed for about 7 yards. It retains the parent design’s 65 MOA circle illuminated reticle with two aiming points calibrated for 50-200 yards and 500 yards.

Whoops I meant the sight that Kipp mentioned. My friend won that last sept during the staff raffle at the FNH 3gun match. We tried it on the Kriss. It works but I'm not a fan of lower 1/3 cowitness.

His must be the XPS?
I slapped mine on and I thought it was pretty much too high to use. I can just see the sights through the lens but the Eotech optics are way off the irons

I dont like lower co witness either-- true is what favor

Has anyone tested the T-Dot with any Kriss products? I'm just wondering if you sight it in at 50 yds. on the lower dot, what ranges would be accurate with the .45 ACP for the upper dot and the "T"?

I don't have the SDP yet, or the extra funds for the sight, or I'd try it myself and update yinz guys! There is a 100 yd. indoor range near me, which would be perfect for experimenting on something like this. Smile

Yinz? You aint a Pittsburgher haha j/k

I havent shot the KRISS with the T-dot. But Shooting the SDP with irons is pretty easy.

Nice /\. I only lived there for 4 years. I bought my Kriss Vector when I was in Pittsburgh. No one had it in stock and I drove out to Dayton to get it.

Not sure...have not called Kriss to check yet. I think it has all the newest features I bought brand new this past December.

Ran another 100 rounds at the range and once again ran flawless. Not sure why the stars have aligned so perfectly for my gun while others have so much trouble. I guess I'll just thank my lucky stars and keep on firing. I've also been using the mil-comm product line for cleaning and lubing not sure if that has anything to do with it but since that recipe seems to be working that's what I'll be sticking with! Smile

Around 1,700 through mine with one failure to eject, WWB. I also use the mil-comm products, especially the mil-comm TR25b grease on the bolt and internal rail guides. Serial number mid 4000's CRB. violent

I don't think the T dot is the right choice for 45acp - 50-200 yards on the low dot and 500 yards on top, with the T being 7 yards.
BUT, if you have something else to put it on its perfect.
THe 45 flying through the air is a hog.

Wb = Weight of bullet (in grains); MV = Muzzle Velocity (in feet per second); BC = Ballistic Coefficient; yards = yds.; inches = "; MPBR = Maximum Point blank Range.

Cartridge (Wb@MV) Bullet BC 25 yds. 50 yds. 100 yds. MPBR (yds.)
.45 ACP (185 at 1000) .109 +2.2" +2.8" -3.7" 96
.45 ACP (200 at 975) .138 +2.3" +3.0" -3.8" 97
.45 ACP (230 at 850) .195 +2.6" +2.5" -6.9" 88

There is no definitive answer, all depends what you are shooting. These are just ballparks.
